Local Network lets the iPad and Mac find and talk to each other on your Wi-Fi. It is asked the first time Deus XT looks for your other device.

Open Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network.
Switch Deus XT on.
Reopen Deus XT.
On the Mac
Open System Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network.
Switch Deus XT on.
Quit and reopen the companion.
Still not found?
A VPN or firewall on either device can block local traffic; pause it or allow Deus XT. Guest networks often keep devices apart. The cable does not need Local Network, so you can always plug in to draw.
